Rabbi Amy Pessah

Rabbi Amy Grossblatt Pessah is a part-time adjunct member of Temple Beth El's clergy team.  She has taught in our adult education program for almost 20 years, including leading a cohort of Adult Confirmation.  In addition, she has served as an advisor to our Jewish Spirituality Task Force and was the featured leader of our Sisterhood Women’s Seder in 2018.

She also leads our monthly Jewish Meditation series, and several continuing education programs on Jewish Spiritual Parenting, Jewish Mysticism, and in other facets of our congregational life.

Rabbi Pessah was ordained by Aleph: Alliance for Jewish Renewal and is a graduate of the Rhea Hirsch School of Jewish Education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion where she received a Master of Arts in Jewish Education. Her undergraduate work was completed at Washington University in St. Louis where she graduated magna cum laude with a double Bachelor’s degree in History and Jewish Near-Eastern Studies.

She is a national expert on Family Education, and has taught in synagogues throughout our area.  She trained and practices as a Jewish Spiritual Director and is the author of the forthcoming book Parenting On A Prayer.
