Melissa Abell is an educator who is passionate about working with children and teens. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida where she majored in Family, Youth, and Community Science and minored in Education, Melissa went on to a career in Social Work. For ten years, she worked for Boys Town teaching behavioral interventions and providing case management to children and families in Palm Beach County. For the past six years, Melissa has worked as a teacher with Palm Beach County Schools where she has thoroughly enjoyed educating and nurturing the children in her class. When Melissa began working as an educator for the Temple Beth El Religious School, she was thrilled to have the opportunity to apply her love of innovative teaching to a Jewish curriculum. With a strong Jewish upbringing of her own- including Religious School, Youth Groups, and signing in the choir- Melissa is passionate about fostering the same bond with Temple Beth El’s youth.
Melissa and her husband, Charles, are synagogue members whose two-year-old daughter, Sophia, and four-year-old son, Joshua, attend the Early Learning Center at Temple Beth El’s Beck Family Campus. In her free time, Melissa enjoys baking with her children, spending time with friends, and summer vacations with her family.
