The Torah of the Vote in the Land of Israel with Dr. Miriam Sanua-Dalin and Jim Schiller
Wednesday, January 15, 2020
Schaefer Family Campus
Dr. Dalin will untangle the Israeli election process and system of government for us, and Jim Schiller will explain why American Jews should vote in the World Zionist Congress (WZC) elections. The WZC is the governing body of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), an international group that serves as a kind of parliament for the Jewish people, world-wide. Participating in elections to select the 145 U.S. delegates is our chance to support Zionism and demonstrate our values on a range of issues affecting both Israeli and diaspora Jewry. Voting is open between January 21 and March 11, 2020.
No fee, RSVP.
FAU Professor Dr. Sanua-Dalin specializes in Jewish history with an emphasis on Jews in the United States. She also teaches the history of the modern state of Israel and the history and culture of the Sephardic Jews. Dr. Dalin received her Ph.D. from Columbia University, and completed graduate work at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
