We are now blessed with the Judson Family Beit Midrash. Did synagogues always have a separate study hall, known as a beit midrash? And if the rabbis teach Torah during services, why do we need a separate place to study? What does it mean now that we have a beit midrash at Temple Beth El?

Dr. Sophia Stone is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Lynn University. Her research interests lie at the crossroads of Plato's metaphysics and the development of Greek mathematics. She loves to engage her students in intellectual inquiry and dialogue and is a devoted member of Temple Beth El.
