Dr. Peter and Ilene Wohlgemuth will be honored at the annual Temple Beth El Brotherhood Golf Tournament Monday, November 18 at Boca Rio Golf Club in Boca Raton, FL.

The premium event includes a gourmet lunch, a round of golf on one of the premiere private golf facilities in Florida, dinner, silent auction, raffle prizes and awards presentation. Registration is open to the entire community with participation and sponsorship options for golfers and non-golfers. Golfers of all gender classifications are welcome.

The proceeds from this year’s Golf Tournament will go towards the Brotherhood’s Project Rampart. We are raising money to build a perimeter fence at the Schaefer Family Campus. Helping secure our new building and East campus is the main priority for Project Rampart.

"The Temple Beth El Brotherhood is privileged to recognize Dr. Peter and Ilene Wohlgemuth as the 2019 Temple Beth El Brotherhood Gold Tournament honorees.  The Wolgemuth’s have supported the South Florida Jewish community for over 25 years.  They continue to leave their mark and help shape our synagogue and the greater Jewish community at large," states Brotherhood President Carlos Romero.

Dr. Peter and Ilene Wohlgemuth

Peter and Ilene met at the University of Pennsylvania and continued their post-graduate studies in Boston before moving to South Florida in 1986.  Ilene was raised in Hollywood, FL and has always been involved in the Jewish community.  Here in South Palm Beach County, Ilene has served as the Chair of the following organizations: Young Women’s Division of the Federation; Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services; Jewish Education Commission; PJ Library and most recently, Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach.  Ilene has also served in various capacities on the Board and Executive Committee of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach for most of the past twenty-five years. Currently, Ilene & Peter are the Co-Chairs of Prime Philanthropists, a major donor division of our Federation.

Peter, also known as Dr. W, started his orthodontic career in Boca Raton in 1986.  Dr. W is a Past President of the South Florida Academy of Orthodontics and has received numerous awards for his involvement with computer assisted orthodontics.  Peter has held numerous leadership positions in the Jewish community as well, including, Co-chair of the Men’s Division of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County; mentor for Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach; and Campaign-Chair for the Young Leadership Division of Federation.

Ilene and Peter’s involvement has been witnessed at Temple Beth El as well.  They Co-Chaired the original Torah Project over 25 years ago and have been on Strategic Planning, Nominating, Mausoleum Committees as well as Search Committees.  Peter has been honored to be a Trustee on the Temple Beth El Board for the past year.

Ilene and Peter have been married for 37 years and are the proud parents of Josh, their daughter-in-law, Sinead and Michelle, and their son-in-law, Brett.

"Temple Beth El has been our spiritual home for over 30 years and an integral part of our connection to our Jewish Community. We are so grateful for our own personal relationships with our clergy and proud of their leadership in the broader Jewish Community in South Palm Beach County and beyond!"

Previous event honorees include Maddi and Wes Finch, Guy Fronstin, Esq., David Pratt, Esq., Bob Marton, Craig Donoff, Esq., and Adam Runsdorf.  Each honoree selects a charitable beneficiary in addition to Brotherhood that receives a portion of proceeds from the event.

This year, Peter and Ilene have selected the Temple Beth El Project Rampart fund as their beneficiary organization.
