“They say you can read a person’s feelings on his face…I was described as looking defeated. Distressed. Depressed.” With these words Former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak begins his new book “My Country, My Life.” We will use this Tisha B’Av to reflect on the triumphs and tribulations of the prime minister and the state. Following up on his May visit to Temple Beth El, we will use Tisha B’Av to reflect on his visit and his book. Copies of the book will be available to borrow before this event. Reading the book is not necessary to attend.
Tisha B’Av is a fast holiday that marks the destruction of the First and Second Temple and other tragedies in Jewish history. There will be a short service and discussion of the book.
