Rabbi Andrea L. Weiss, PhD is Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Provost and Associate Professor of Bible at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Rabbi Andrea L. Weiss, PHD will reflect on the lessons learned from the 100 letters sent to our leaders in Washington during the first 100 days of the Trump administration. Recently published as a book, the American Values, Religious Voices letters offer wisdom, inspiration, and hope—a sorely needed antidote to the acrimony and discord that pervade politics today.
This dinner will be followed by services and the Rabbi Aaron D. Panken Memorial Lecture at services sponsored by Patty and Louis Beck is in memory of Rabbi Aaron D. Panken, PhD, z”l President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute (HUC-JIR), who died tragically in a plane crash on May 5, 2018, at the age of 53.

9:00 am Breakfast
9:30 am Learning
Since their inception long ago, people have turned to psalms for solace, support and insight. We will study selected passages from the Book of Psalms, as we consider what makes these biblical texts so compelling and how they can speak to us in meaningful ways today.
The Rabbi Aaron Panken Memorial Lecture and Weekend with Rabbi Andrea L. Weiss, PhD is generously sponsored by Patty and Louis Beck.
