Title:	Temple Beth El to Hold Community Volunteer Fair

BOCA RATON, FL – February 11, 2002 – The Social Action Committee of Temple Beth El of Boca Raton announced that it would hold a volunteer fair on Sunday, April 28, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Temple’s Frances and Solon Cohen Atrium.

“The volunteer fair is an exceptional opportunity for both the charitable or non-profit organization, and the prospective volunteer,” said Temple Beth El Social Action Chair Mark Platt. “Imagine, a great selection of the charities and non-profit organizations and hundreds of eager and captive volunteers all under one roof. Our goal is to foster Tikkun Olam -- helping to make our world a better place.”

The social action committee, which organizes the synagogue’s annual Mitzvah Day, is seeking representation at the fair by area organizations that rely on volunteers. There is no charge for organizations to participate.

“Mitzvah Day is great,” said Jack Jaiven, Temple Beth El’s vice president of congregational activities. “But we want to make Mitzvah Day a year ‘round commitment by getting people involved on a more permanent basis. There’s a lot of untapped talent out there, and we’d like to help match up volunteers with organizations.”
