Seventh grade students meet every other Tuesday night for the core class at the Beck Family Campus from September – January and the Schaefer Family Campus from February – May from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. During this time students will explore relationships to self, their peers, and the larger Jewish Community.
In addition to the core class, each 7th grade will select a choice class. Choice classes meet on either Tuesday or Sunday and offered at both campuses. View the choice class offerings for our 7th graders for 2016-2017. Register online for your child’s choice class.
Eighth grade students meet every other Tuesday night at the Beck Family Campus from September – January and the Schaefer Family Campus from February – May from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Students explore topics that are all the buzz in the news through a Jewish lens. The environment, Black-Jewish relations, the Holocaust and Israel, and Jews in Hollywood are just some of the topics to be explored with rabbis, teachers and guest presenters. Each topic includes hands-on memorable experiences that will change the way students think about themselves and the world.
In addition to Tuesday night class, all 7th and 8th graders are expected to attend the Derech Torah retreat. Check the Religious School calendar for retreat dates and registration information, as well as other Youth Engagement opportunities.
All students are welcome to join their friends for a community dinner that begins at 6:30 pm just before classes!
A fantastic supplement to our Religious School curriculum is our popular Youth Engagement program, which seeks to foster relationships among our youth through fun, social, educational, and recreational Jewish experiences. Youth Group membership is included for students in 7th and 8th grade.
