The music of Temple Beth El raises our prayers to a higher level of spirituality.
Under the musical direction of Cantorial Soloist
Lori Shapiro, and assisted by Michelle Auslander Cohen, Cantorial Associate, and Emily Aronoff, Music Educator/Song Leader, Temple Beth El brings to life some of the greatest music ever composed for the synagogue. Eclectic in nature, the musical selections for our service range from folk, jazz, pop to classical and are exciting and stimulating to the soul.
Professional musicians create a feeling of ruach that stirs our souls and connects us to the liturgy, enhancing our celebration of Shabbat. Likewise, professional choirs enhance High Holy Day music as we combine the classical settings and nusach with some contemporary settings, allowing all to connect to the Days of Awe.
Collaborating with our musically talented temple members makes our music that of the people. The Adult Chorale, Temple Band and youth choir, Shir Joy, allow congregants to join with the professional musicians to bring our heritage to life and lift the hearts of all who listen. This sophisticated contemporary music is a perfect complement to the awe-inspiring beauty of our sanctuary.
