Our Brotherhood is a men’s service organization that bridges generations to promote Jewish values. That is our guiding principle. Through financial and organizational support, our Brotherhood enables many programs that benefit the entire congregation. The benefits from our work are spread throughout every area of our great synagogue.
To maximize participation in Brotherhood, our events are now open to all congregants regardless of Brotherhood membership status. As a special incentive, become a new Brotherhood member at one of our events and the $42 annual dues will enable you to attend any Brotherhood events through June 2013 at no charge up to the full $42 value of your first annual membership. Your first year membership will pay for itself!
Our goal for the 2012-2013 year is to increase outreach within our synagogue, maintain traditionally popular programs and to create new relevant events that strengthen our membership. You can help to achieve these goals. Please contact Brotherhood president Larry Hotz at lehotz@gmail.com to help continue Brotherhood's good works and share a lot of laughs together along the way.
Upcoming Events:
DOG SPELLED BACKWARDS
Pet Blessing
Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM
TBE Beck Family Campus
Animals play a significant role in Torah. They are mentioned in ancient rituals, dietary laws and in many Torah parshas including Parsha Noach around this time of year. Sometimes things don’t always end up well for the animal. Now it’s our turn to sacrifice for our pets. Our rabbis will bless your pets to acknowledge the important contribution they make in our lives. The annual Pet Blessing event illustrates the true diversity of our congregation. In previous years birds, turtles, horses, monkeys, pigs, as well as dozens of dogs and cats have each waited patiently for a few moments with our rabbis, who truly take time to offer a blessing to each of our most loyal companions. So get the doggy-tuxedo pressed or come as you are, Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the Beck Campus. Treats will be served. To RSVP and for further details contact Steve Bentz, sbentzwork@yahoo.com
BFF ILUVU2
Everyone has a BFF – a ‘Best Friend Forever’. We are taking this sentiment to heart and enhancing it’s meaning by creating special events for ‘Bonding with Fathers (and Father-figures) for Fun’. Brotherhood is producing three BFF events this year according to the age group of your children. Everything is planned in advance. Just sign up to participate. We are thinking big to maximize your quality time with your kids while having a great time at these unique programs:
November 11 – Come to Gymnastics Plus for a morning power-hour with your pre-schooler after you drop off your older kids at religious school. Watch your little ones have a ball with supervised activities while you keep an eye on them through the hole of your toasted bagel heaped with lox, tomatoes, cream cheese and onions.
December 7-8 – One of the best kept secrets in Palm Beach County, the camping area at Quiet Waters Park has already-assembled permanent tents on a pretty lakeside site complete with clean bathrooms, electricity, fire pits and running water. Your elementary school child will be jumping up and down for the chance for alone-time with you, fishing, playing in the next-door water park and pointing at stars with sticky smores-covered fingers. And Saturday when you get back home is the first night of Hannukah. Awesome!
