The Temple Beth El Bikkur Cholim committee is a group of diverse, dedicated, caring temple members who visit sick congregants in their homes, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and the hospital. We also make calls to those who might appreciate some extra support and kindness. Reaching out to the sick is a wonderful mitzvah. It touches those in need and you may find that it is also good for oneself. It helps each of us remember what is truly important in our lives.
Inform Us When Someone is Ill
Our goal is to visit and make calls to all members of the congregation who are ill and would welcome our services. Therefore, it is important that you inform us when a friend or loved one is sick.
Training
Periodically we hold training sessions for those interested in learning new skills and improving already existing skills for comforting their fellow congregants. The clergy, our congregation’s Jewish Family Service social worker, and our Bikkur Cholim coordinator, lead the sessions. We invite you to participate in our training course so that you can begin visiting the sick as soon as possible.
